The Red Wine G, vintage 2016 from the winery Weingut Gesellmann has been rated in 2020 by Peter Moser with 97 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Blaufränkisch, St. Laurent from the region Central Burgenland in Austria.
Dark ruby, purple reflections, broad brightening on the rim. Fine dark forest berry conserve, some dill, pleasant wood savouriness, a touch of tobacco, dark nougat and candied orange zest in the background. Full-bodied and juicy on the palate, ripe cherry fruit, cassis, silky tannins and a salty, mineral finish. Already seems well developed, a multi-faceted food wine with definite ageing potential.
