The red wine »schiefer Rebell« Cabernet Sauvignon, vintage 2018 from the winery Weingut Tom Benz has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 90+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Cabernet Sauvignon from the region Moselle in Germany.
Lots of cassis and bell peppers on the nose, typical of the grape variety, with a hint of wood and finely chopped dill. Powerful Cabernet Sauvignon in its strength and substance, sweetish extract and - unsurprisingly - slate-like minerality. The tannins are grippy, with a slightly greenish touch. Is this a Mosel grape of the future?.
