The white wine »500« Weissburgunder trocken, vintage 2023 from the winery Weingut Tom Benz has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 92+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Weißburgunder from the region Moselle in Germany.
Golden yellow in colour. The aroma shows more terroir than variety: burning slate savouriness, also iodine tones, oyster shell. Ripe yellow fruit, mirabelle plum. Liquorice. Changes quickly in the glass. In the mouth, the wine has just as much drive as complexity in the nose: a mealy phenolic character and, for all its power, an acid-fresh, pithy finish.
