TV personality Martha Stewart opens her first restaurant

The Bedford by Martha Stewart has opened in Las Vegas, offering French-inspired cuisine and some of her favourite recipes.

Over the weekend, Martha Stewart opened her first restaurant: “The Bedford by Martha Stewart”, at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel, offers an “intimate setting coupled with a menu reflective of her culinary inspirations”. At the grand opening, the American chef, businesswoman and TV personality was seen with celebrities like Snoop Dogg.

Stewart’s first eatery has been modelled on her Bedford Farm estate, and boasts French-inspired cuisine combined with a number of her favourite recipes, with ingredients sourced locally. The 194-seat restaurant will offer guests an “authentic glimpse of how Martha lives and entertains in her own home”, drawing inspiration from her country farmhouse that dates back to 1925, including an accurate replica of her own brown faux-bois dining room. “We have worked tirelessly to bring my farmhouse in Bedford, New York, to life in Las Vegas, and I think visitors will be enchanted by what we have come up with,” said Stewart in a press release. “These are the same dishes that I serve to family and friends in my own home.”

Smashed Baked Potato, smashed tableside

For starters, guests may enjoy the Classic Niçoise Salad, made with olive oil-packed tuna, haricot verts, vermouth-dressed potatoes, hard-boiled egg, and topped with an anchovy vinaigrette. Seafood enthusiasts may go for the Oysters Rockefeller, baked with Pernod cream, spinach and watercress, and finished with a crunchy parsley breadcrumb topping. For the main course, guests may enjoy a Whole Roast Herb Chicken, carved tableside, and Martha’s Smashed Baked Potato, smashed tableside, and served with crème fraiche, chives and bacon lardons. Guests can also enjoy Martha’s Chard, her California chardonnay from 19 Crimes.

“The opening of the new restaurants will further establish Paris Las Vegas as a must-visit culinary destination,” said Jason Gregorec, Senior Vice-President and General Manager of Paris Las Vegas, in a press release. The Bedford by Martha Stewart at Paris Las Vegas will be open for dinner from 5 to 10:30 p.m. daily, and is near Nobu at Paris Las Vegas, and across from Bobby’s Burgers by Bobby Flay.
