Tasting Notes
Dark ruby in colour with an opaque core, purple reflections, and a subtle ochre rim. On the nose, a multi-faceted bouquet, with delicately smoky nuances, some herbal spice, liquorice, and black cherry. The palate is juicy, and elegant, with subtle fruit, fine acidity, ripe tannins, and subtle nougat caramel on the finish, offering freshness and further ageing potential. (25/1, +40, PM).
More about the tastingDark ruby colour, purple reflections. Aromas of fine oak, nuances of blackberries and cassis, a touch of nougat, in the underlay cardamom and cloves; a very inviting bouquet. Deep and complex, pronounced fruit in the body, ripe supporting tannins, a voluminous but also harmonious wine, equipped with aromatic range and enormous length, promising future, so far probably the best wine of this house since 1945 (PM, store, drink +30, tasted Sept. 2025).
