Tasting Notes
Sweet cherry, sultana, soya sauce, caramel wood. Becomes somewhat porous with time in the glass. Creamy base, followed by an immensely high dose of firm tannin, which is fleshy to sharp in the centre of the palate, but then dissolves relatively quickly into wide, juicy meshes. Chewy, with mineral components and savoury, ethereal notes on the finish, which could indicate some overripeness in the grapes. Inconspicuous acidity, but carrying. Full of certain ageing potential, but also idiosyncratic. (Panel rating: 95.2).
