Rich, deep, dark ruby-violet. Opens with notes of smoke and cigars, plus some pepper and cardamom, then lots of rich blackberry fruit comes to the fore. Shows firm, well-placed tannins on the palate which shows layers of fresh, crisp fruit. Plenty of drive builds towards the backend, but it's still a little rough on the finish.
