The Sweet and Dessert Wine Vin Santo del Chianti Classico DOC, vintage 2004 from the winery Rocca di Montegrossi has been rated in 2019 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Malvasia, Canaiolo nero from the region Toscana in Italy.
Clear, intense amber in colour. Shows intense notes of pear and apple jelly, some milk coffee, liquorice and forest honey on the nose, with a touch of varnish in the background. It surprises on the palate with pronounced salty and herbal notes of saffron, chestnuts and dried figs, with an undercurrent of dark bread crust. Lingers for a long time.
