The sweet and dessert wine Vin Santo del Chianti Classico DOC, vintage 1998 from the winery Rocca di Montegrossi has been rated in 2019 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 98 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Malvasia from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Powerful amber with a slight haze. The nose is multi-layered, opening with notes of anchovies and dark chocolate, then dried figs and very ripe bananas. There's quite a show on the palate which is very multi-layered, constantly releasing new notes, but also very balanced and harmonious due to its maturation. Salty on the finish.
