Tasting Notes
Dark ruby, good colour core, purple reflections. Fine savouriness, very delicate animal touch, underlaid with dark berry fruit, smoky tobacco nuances. Full-bodied, juicy fruit, ripe cherry, vivid still somewhat demanding tannins, good fruit length, elegant style, mineral finish, good freshness. It is a powerful food wine, and should be allowed to age in bottle for a few more years.
More about the tastingDark ruby garnet, violet reflections, delicate edge brightening, watery rim. Fresh black fruit on the nose, fine leafy nuances, mineral notes, blackberries, multi-faceted Enthusiastic tannin quality, complex, incredibly silky, wonderful extract sweetness, the idea of a potential successor to the 2000 wine, fresh, but already surprisingly harmonious, very promising. The question remains as to what extent the shift towards Austrian varieties will affect the quality of the fruit in the long term - only time will tell.
