The red wine Amarone Classico della Valpolicella, vintage 1983 from the winery Bertani has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler with 96 Falstaff points.
Intense garnet, orange hints, dark core. Very exciting aromas of dried plums, dried tomatoes and porcini mushrooms, a slight hint of consommé and lots of cherry. Shows great tension on the palate with fine-meshed tannins, well-developed fruit and a long, lingering, salty finish.
