The red wine Amarone Classico della Valpolicella, vintage 2000 from the winery Bertani has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler with 96 Falstaff points.
Bright, intense ruby with a fine garnet sheen. Initially somewhat restrained on the nose, then cherry, red currant, some green notes and a savoury edge. On the palate, the fine-meshed tannin supports perfectly, vivid fruit and a long, lingering, juicy finish.
