The red wine Château Figeac, vintage 2000 from the winery Château Figeac has been rated in 2022 by Peter Moser with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon from the region St. Emilion in France.
It has a dark ruby colour, with purple reflections, and a subtle bright ochre rim. There are delicate savoury nuances of nougat, tobacco, truffle, some cassis, black cherry, a hint of suede, mineral nuances, all underlaid with gentle notes of fine oak. It is complex, juicy, characterized by the warmth of summer, with black berry and liquorice in the core, ripeness, still vivid tannins, sweet fruit, showing very good length, and it has reached maturity for enjoyment. It is a powerful, full-bodied food wine, and is equipped with certain ageing potential for decades (drink until 2045).
