Subtle touch of precious wood, tobacco savouriness, still shy at first, background with fine dark forest berry confit, needs air to reveal itself, notes of preserved cherries and candied orange zest. Complex, fine sweetness in the texture, taut, fine savoury tannins, some nougat on the finish, has great length, ripe blackberries and cherries in the aftertaste, some gingerbread in the finish, peppery touch, convincing finish, certain ageing potential.
