Tasting Notes
Very dark ruby in colour with purple reflections, and discreet brightening on the rim. Fantastically aromatic with a beguiling bouquet of dark cherry and candied violets, underlaid with forest berry confit. Very powerful on the palate, with firm, well-integrated tannins, hints of nougat, cassis and ripe cherry and a convincing length. Showing great potential for future ageing.
More about the tastingDeep crimson garnet, violet core, ruby red reflections, broad ochre rim. Delicate dried fruit notes on the nose, rather delicate and almost restrained, nuances of fresh plums, a hint of truffle and rosewood, fine spice notes. On the palate, reminiscent of the aromas of a young port wine, very fresh and racy in structure, with a very firm tannin dress that still dominates the wine somewhat on the finish. Has just left the primary fruit phase to pupate, a wine with very good potential that shows what was possible in this hot vintage, but should now remain untouched for the next ten years. (cellar/+30)
