Tasting Notes
The much darker colour alone reveals that this was a warm year. The character was more hedonistic, less intellectual, but more direct, juicier, fuller-bodied and smoother. The nose is floral with intense notes of peony, dog rose and violet. Dark berries, mocha, fine cocoa powder, liquorice - and a surprising, grassy freshness that lends vibrancy to the bouquet. The palate reveals a creamy tannin structure that melts like nougat on the tongue - almost opulent, but the taut acid core provides the perfect balance.
