Tasting Notes
It is always amazing what surprises the hot year 2003 has in store. This wine also bears the hallmark of the vintage: a robust backbone hints at the heat but what follows is remarkably polished and balanced. The power is there, but it is masterfully brought to the fore. The nose reveals ripe aromas of dark fruit, rosehip, blood orange and candied bitter orange, accompanied by fine dark chocolate, mocha and hints of tea. The palate is characterised by finely polished tannins, measured, yet supporting acidity and a consistently balanced, harmonious overall impression.
