The red wine Ornellaia Bolgheri Superiore DOC, vintage 2007 from the winery Ornellaia has been rated in 2010 with 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Petit Verdot, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc from the region Bolgheri in Italy.
Bright, deep dark ruby with purple colour. Great and compact nose, shows lots of ripe cassis notes, plus plenty of blackberry, inviting. It takes off as if in the fast lane, fine, full-bodied tannins, already surprisingly accessible and soft, subtle notes of cedar wood on the finish, savoury and gripping, only at the very beginning of a long development.
