The red wine Amarone Classico della Valpolicella, vintage 1959 from the winery Bertani has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler with 90 Falstaff points.
Mature garnet red, medium density. More restrained on the nose, light dark caramel notes, molasses, also some leafy notes: Exciting salty components on the palate, unfortunately also quite alcoholic, clearly more developed than 1958, probably a slight cork creep.
