The red wine Amarone Classico della Valpolicella, vintage 1978 from the winery Bertani has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler with 95 Falstaff points.
Rich ruby with a thin orange rim. Opens with notes of tar and dried plum, some wild raspberry and black cherry, very clear. Juicy on the attack, then spreads out with grippy, dense tannins, flows calmly, emphasises salty notes on the finish, lingers for a very long time.
