The red wine Amarone Classico della Valpolicella, vintage 1993 from the winery Bertani has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler with 91 Falstaff points.
Bright ruby-garnet colour. Very clear nose, with notes of ripe fresh and preserved cherries, a hint of blueberries, some liquorice and pepper. Firm, gripping tannins, very compact, shows a lot of density, unfortunately also little fruit, appears very focused.
