The white wine »Geheimrat J« Rheingau Riesling trocken, vintage 2005 from the winery Weingüter Wegeler – Gutshaus Rheingau has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Riesling from the region Rheingau in Germany.
Light golden. Apple and tangerine on the nose, still young on the palate, well balanced, with an interplay of sweetness and acidity. This is not a powerful wine, it certainly has a supple base, but still appears transparent and juicy, with plenty of mineral extract that carries the finish. Powerful at the end, but now with a slight tendency towards breadth.
