The white wine »Geheimrat J« Rheingau Riesling trocken, vintage 2009 from the winery Weingüter Wegeler – Gutshaus Rheingau has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Riesling from the region Rheingau in Germany.
Light golden. Initially opens on the nose with notes of apple, almond and flint. Rosehip. Stewed apple. On the palate, the crisp acidity is impressive, almost astringently tense, reinforced by a little carbon dioxide. Lots of power, but quite harmonious. A robust wine with ageing potential.
