Tasting Notes
Savoury cranberry fruit rises from the glass, accompanied by notes of tomato paste, semi-dark chocolate and rum raisins. In the mouth, the wine is full and supple, a fine acidity refreshes the full-bodied structure before sweet fruit leads into the long finish. Beautiful initial maturity, but still a long way from reaching the end of its journey.
More about the tastingRestrained on the nose, the savouriness masks the fruit. On the palate, too, the fruit slowly begins to diminish and the structure takes its place. Less cherry-oriented and more in the direction of stewed plums. Denser and more tannic than the 2016, but not finer.
