The red wine »Cuvée Wilhelm«, vintage 2016 from the winery Weingut Wageck Pfaffmann has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 91+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc
Smoky new wood and savoury red berry aromas. Red currant, some herbs, mint. In the mouth, the wine is very juicy, fresh, fine-grained tannins in rather carefully extracted quantities and a good acid nerve provide structure, the finish is of good length. Very elegant!
More about the tastingStructured pluminess on the nose, even a light touch of lemon. A touch of lemon tart remains on the palate, alongside slightly dried sour cherry. Beautiful juiciness with a somewhat more light-footed style than the previous and subsequent vintages. More finesse, less density.
