The red wine Il Blu IGT, vintage 1999 from the winery Brancaia has been rated in 2015 with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Forest floor, moss, meat soup, nougat, roasted hazelnut, some blueberry after air contact, almost slate-like notes. Compared to the 2001 or 2004, the attack is lighter, more on the sinewy side, but still full of vitality, present acidity, juicy transition into the finish. Finishes with quite clear red fruit, which speaks against the assumption that the wine is already at its peak.
