The red wine Il Blu IGT, vintage 2012 from the winery Brancaia has been rated in 2015 with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Barrel sample (of the final assemblage): discreet wood, cedar, some caramel, very precise, clear fruit (cherry, blackberry leaves, maceration tones). Grainy, dense tannin, high quality and physiologically ripe, grippy on the palate on a soft base, salty, alcohol well countered by fruit, ripe, actively carrying acidity. The fruit is medium-bodied in its intensity, but lingers for a very long time.
