The red wine Il Blu IGT, vintage 2005 from the winery Brancaia has been rated in 2015 with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Strong herbal savouriness, broom, "macchie", wax, also prune, forest floor. Soft base, quite juicy, dense tannins with a tight structure (very slightly green). Lots of creaminess in the background, well-integrated acidity, all in the medium-weight range, but closely integrated with good propotions. Good length, with fruity notes of caramel and red berries.
