The red wine Scrio Syrah IGT, vintage 2008 from the winery Le Macchiole has been rated in 2011 with 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Syrah from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Clear, impenetrable ruby-purple in colour. A multi-layered nose with appealing notes of tobacco, red pepper and lots of blueberry. Firm and full-bodied on the palate, it shows lovely juicy fruit up front before spreading out from the mid-palate with dense, full-bodied tannins that build up nicely. There's a beautiful interplay between fruit and tannins on the finish, which feels still very young.
