Tasting Notes
Dark ruby, purple reflections, subtle ochre rim brightening. Fine nuances of dill tips, bourbon vanilla, pipe tobacco and black forest berries, ripe cherry, a hint of liquorice and chocolate. Juicy, opulent and round, a hint of caramel, sweet oak savouriness, mineral and clinging, nougat on the finish, the tannins still somewhat demanding, still needs further bottle ageing. (2020 - 2060) Tasted by Peter Moser, 1/2021.
More about the tastingDeep dark ruby colour, purple reflections, subtle edge brightening. Fine cassis nuances, a hint of lime, tobacco nuances, subtle herbal savouriness, fresh orange zest. Juicy, complex, some nougat, ripe plum, mineral-salty, vivid tannins, remains persistent, has encapsulated a little on the finish, definitely needs bottle ageing.
More about the tastingDeep dark ruby, purple reflections, subtle edge brightening. Delicate ethereal nuances, black berry confit, a hint of cherry, subtle cassis in the background, hints of nougat, still somewhat restrained overall. Powerful, tightly woven texture, black cherry, well-integrated, vivid tannins, pleasant minerality, balanced and persistent, can be drunk now, but can also be matured over decade. What is particularly striking is its lively acid structure, which makes it appear somewhat slimmer, but also lends it light-footedness.
